‘Cautionary Tales for Children’ by Hilaire Belloc, a university group project where we had to work together as a team to illustrate the poems. As a team, we chose a modern gothic yet colourful twist on the illustration style, aiming for a retro newspaper print effect.

The Big Book Brief

The Big Book Brief was a university set group project based around the poetry book 'Cautionary Tales for Children' written by Hilaire Belloc. The brief was simple, we were asked to illustrate the poems in whichever way we seemed fit. We decided to go for a sophisticated yet spooky illustrative style, using a limited colour pallet and aiming for a printed newspaper effect.
